Jack does a great job combining lyrical dynamics with awesome back music. Who ever thought that an accordian could be cool, well, he makes it cool on "Belle" in which the first part is all in Italian. "Constellation" and "Banana Pancakes" are also great songs.
Bottom Line: If you want a relaxed laid back type of music then, Jack Johnson is your guy. Was this review helpful? The lyrics are something everyone can relate to and the melodies and laid back harmonies are something you can't help humming and singing. Jack is by far my favorite artist and he is even higher up there after this cd. Lamb Of God, Soilwork, Atreyu, Shadows Fall, Slipknot, Soulfly Chimaira and Devildriver just to name a few... like really heavy stuff. But I don't care who you, everyone has an appreciation for all kinds of music and my room mate's girlfriend left this cd sitting on the coffee table the other day and I put it in out of curiosity and I must say that this guy is genuine and flawless and the music is perfect and it just puts you in a mellow good mood. Makes me wanna sit back on a hot afternoon by the pool with my girfriend and a cold beer and just chill. So if you need to chill out and just kick back this is the music for you cause it'll just put you in a good mood and change how you feel all over inside and out and people will notice. Definately don't download this, go out and buy it because it's worth every penny. As all my friends would say, "it f***in rocks." Was this review helpful? Sign In 10 out of 16 users found this helpful ExcellentPosted: 5/18/2005A review of In Between Dreams by TLHalik I had never heard of Jack Johnson until last month, my uncle who was 39 years old was a huge fan of Jack, his music helped him feel better when dealing with cancer treatments, unfortunately he passed on April 21, 2005 but the song during his memoriam that he wanted dedicated to his young wife and 3 small boys was better together the 1st song on this album, it suited them perfectly. Since hearing all of his music I too am now a fan and have bought it all and am enjoying every minute!! Was this review helpful? Sign In |
