A breakthrough album for Incubus, this album rode on the coattails of Drive, their hit single. However, the album has a lot of other good music to offer. Pardon Me was another good hit, and the rest of the album is pretty much more of the same, but its all solid. The best overall album Incubus has made to date.

Nothing more to say. Every song with lyrics is just addicting and just out of this world. Better still is that not all of there talent has been used up yet. I'd recommend this album for all to add into there music collection.

"Make Yourself," arguably the best contribution made to the world of music to date by Incubus. Well, I've listened to their SCIENCE CD, and it's harder than Make Yourself (MY), but, it sounds a little generic, a little samey. MY is quite good, it has it's ups, and it downs.
The album has a great opener, and mellow acoustic moments like "Drive" will leave you swaying, with your lighter held aloft. Having said that, with trakcs that waste time, and rape music like Battlestar Scratchlactica, one wonders "why did I pay for this?" Despite this track, I enjoy listening to this album, with warm tracks like "The Warmth" (no pun intended) and aggressive tracks like "Make Yourself," I have to agree, this is the closest that Incubus has ever come to making the perfect balance. With good vocals, brilliant lyrics, and a superb drummer, the only thing this album is totally devoid of is solos. While not always a bad thing, it is nice to listen to some funky rock with a flashy solo or two.
Incubus do still have things to learn, but for it's price, it gives 12 if not very good, then at least good tracks, and one waste of 3 minutes.
The 2 CD special edition is a good purchase, and one you can display on your CD rack with pride.

Somewhere mashed in between the funky rap metal of S.C.I.E.N.C.E and the barely hard rock Morning View is Incubus' best work to date, Make Yourself. Falling in line with the other bands of the late '90s, Incubus makes a memorable piece of alt-metal that would leave one baffled that their new album is the same band. Brandon Boyd is really a great singer, I'll give that to Incubus. It also amazes me that it took the band 3 singles to get a hit, when in reality the first two, ";pardon me"; and ";stellar"; are 2 of the best tracks on the cd. When the band caught the attention of well, everyone with ";drive";, many people overlooked the rest of this amazing album. The first track ";privelage"; is gritty but personifies the entire album in that the band is being similar but different. Every aspect of this album comes off less bland than their nu-metal reject counterparts. The excellent ";nowhere fast"; and the clever ";the warmth"; start the album going on a good note. Such a track as the powerful ";Make Yourself"; make this album quite a great listen. Weaving throughout the heavier tracks are the aformentioned drive, and the partially acoustic ";i miss you";. An excellent ode to a lost lover, the track captures the soul and not just the ears. There really isn't a flaw that needs to be mentioned concerning this album, from start to finish it is a listenable and invigorating piece of music and still stands today as the best work of the band's career.

Drive brought them to the big screen and radio and the big times. They deserve every bit of it, with this great album. They are an original band with hits, Drive and Pardon Me. The best song in my opinion is The Warmth. It is a heart felt song and has a great guitar rythem. Other songs like Privledge, Nowhere Fast, Consequence, Make Yourself, and Stellar also bring their great sound and lyrics with force. If you don't have this cd, go out and buy it right now, you'll miss out if you don't. Get funkified!

I must say this is the best album I have ever heard. Bravo Incubus for your intellect. It takes a lot to voice the opinions of the higher regime, and they've done an awsome job. This is one of the greatest bands to exist and I am very greatful to their influences. Keep it coming! June 21st~~ Madison Sq. Garden!!!!!! We shall meet!!!
