Each have an unique sound of their own, which makes every soundtrack different and beautiful. I especially like the songs with vocals, Twilight and Shadow is a great example on how well everyone sang in all the Lord of the Ring albums. I especially think that The Return of the King song, was very beautiful with the instrument which I am going to assume is a flute playing throughout the track. In every track I see part of the movie as I listen to it. I give this soundtrack five stars for I believe that I have never heard another like it, besides the Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. Plus the instruments and vocals all did a spectacular job, and I of course wont forget Howard Shore since he is the one who composed the music. If you havent bought the album yet, I definitely recommend you to buy it, especially if you enjoyed the movies. Was this review helpful? It has all of the beautiful sounds of music you heard in the movie and it is very clam and peacful, well most of them. Was this review helpful? The soundtrack includes many of the themes in the movie, and has some special songs like "Into the West" which played just as the credits rolled for the last and final movie in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Howard SHore has done it again by making such a wonderfull soundtrack to a most beloved movie. I give it an A+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the first attempt came to the movies I was proven right and thought ok that was it now. Nobody is going to try that ever again.
And now today I am stunned, moved, impressed and delighted that I was proven wrong and not only that the three movies are outstanding but also the soundtracks are magnificent. I never liked soundtracks a lot but since I bought this one only because of the song "Into the West" I listen to the entire CD all day (Car and Office). I agree with the other reviewers that the most impressive tracks are "The Steward of Gondor" and "The Grey Havens" and of course Annie Lennox with "Into the West". Thank you to the entire team that made the movie and the soundtrack possible. Was this review helpful? This cd is just as good as the others, with very moving pieces. Heck...if the Grey Havens doesn't make you even a little sad( it makes me cry, not gonna deny it) I think you're a robot...WELL DONE HOWARD! YOU ARE MY HERO! Was this review helpful? Amazing cd Was this review helpful? Sign In 11 out of 12 users found this helpful Posted: 2/15/2004A review of Lord Of The Rings 3-The Return Of The King by Pyrah_from_Fires_Realm I love this soundtrack. I've never really been into soundtracks of movies but the Lord of the Rings trilogy hit me in the face. But the Return of the King soundtrack smashed me in the face. The first time I heard the Minas Tirith theme along with the movie, I almost fell out of my chair. And the same goes to "The White Tree", "Anduril", and "The Black Gate Opens". This soundtrack is just so amazing and it moves you. Everytime I listen to the soundtrack I just want to jump and go to the theaters to watch the movie. It creates and portrays so much emotion. Howard Shore couldn't have done a better job. But....On the Fields of Pelennor in the movie, they didn't add some of the music into the soundtrack. Like when Rohan shows up and starts fighting and with the battle of the Oliphaunts, and when Legolas jumped up on the Oliphaunt and killed it. That music wasn't in the soundtrack.. That's the one thing (and the only thing) I was disappointed with. They should make...extended soundtracks lol. And if you've ever been in band or a music class..you'd notice the music in a movie more than the next person because you're more sensitive to it. And you can pinpoint a number of things. And I give this soundtrack a rating of 5 stars because it's just that darn good and it's worth that much. Was this review helpful? I especially loved 'Steward of Gondor' with the outstanding Billy Boyd! Man give that guy an album!! Great job Howard Shore with all of the LOTR soundtracks!! Hats off to you and the orchestra! I praise Howard Shore and the orchestra. I listen to this album (and the previous two) everyday. The music just moves throughout my body. Marvelous. Was this review helpful? All of this songs on this album hold something different, yet the central theme can be heard throughout. I was impressed with the sweep and sound of the first 4 songs, they simply take you away to Middle Earth. And then it ends with Annie Lennox's "INTO THE WEST" Awesome! It still brings a lump to my throat when I listen to the words and think of what they mean for the friends of the film. I listen to all three sountracks constantly, and through them, get away for a little while to somewhere a little less hectic than here. Was this review helpful? I had loved the first two soundtracks, and their corresponding films. Then came the third film, The Return of the King. I was stunned. The film trilogy could not have come to a stronger, more climactic closing. The soundtrack is no different. I listen to it often, and each time I do, the music stirs me. It brings tears to my eyes. Howard Shore has composed an incredible work of art! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-15 of 15 Per Page |
