GO OUT AND BUY IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 6/19/2006A review of Appetite For Destruction [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by Anonymous Appetite for Destruction, Guns N Roses debut album, is very easily the best album from the late 80s, early 90s era. Vocalist Axl Rose takes rock and roll to new levels with his tales of sex, drugs, and surviving in the city. Guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin add an extra layer of depth to the songs Rose sings, with powerful solos and easily recognizable tunes that have become commonplace on radios and commercials. Bassist Duff McKagan and drum player Steven Adler also perform their parts top-notch. From the hard rocking Nightrain to the passionate Sweet Child O Mine, its clear that the band was well in tune with their music. The classics Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle are also highlights on the album, along with the heroin-based Mr. Brownstone and the sex-driven Anything Goes. Appetite was, and is, one of the premire rock albums, the best of a band that ruled all back in its day. This is one album that cannot be missed. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/28/2006A review of Appetite For Destruction [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by Anonymous Thisll keep your head banging thruout the album. Every song on this album is really strong, especially the strongest hits (Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child O Mine.) Aside from AC DCs Back in Black, Metallicas Master of Puppets, and Deep Purples Machine Head, this album really rocks out my entire collection of the best rock music out there! This debut album from GNR combined ripping solos with catchy hooks and raw lyrics that told the listener that these guys had nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Though still developing as artists, GNR was definitely on their way to stardom with this album, and as the title suggests, this album will satiate your appetite for destruction. I listen to it everyday, and i fall asleep every night with welcome to the jungle, its so easy, nightrain, out ta get me, mr brownstone, paradise city, my michelle, youre crazy, sweet child o mine, think about you, anything goes, and rocket queen blasting in my ears, until i fall asleep. Man, you gotta get this cd. THIS IS THE BEST CD IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT THIS CD. I COULDNT LIVE WITH MYSELF IF I DINT HAVE THIS CD! MAN, WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE IS THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME, SO IS SWEET CHILD O MINE AND PARADISE CITY. IF YOU LIKE THESE SONGS, GET THIS ALBUM. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND BUYING GREATEST HITS, BECAUSE THERES NO GOOD HARD ROCK SONGS ON THE GREATEST HITS ALBUM, LIKE NIGHTRAIN, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE GREATEST HITS ALBUM, OR ROCKET QUEEN. Anyway, I would definatley consider buying this album Was this review helpful? GNR 4EVER Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 12/4/2005A review of Appetite For Destruction [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by dapster7 When I first got this album as a Xmas gift back in 1988 I thought to myself what a pile of crap except for Sweet Child O Mine. I loved that song (still do) back then, so I guess the person that bought it for me thought that I would like it. WRONG! However over the weeks that followed Appetite For Destuction grew on me, especially Mr. Brownstone and Its So Easy. What a great album! Eventually G NR became my favorite band and Appetite my favorite album. Still are to this very day. Anyhow, ever wonder how Appetite For Destruction became the number one selling hard rock album? Listen to it, from Welcome To The Jungle all the way to Rocket Queen it sounds like a locomotive at full throttle. Not a bad song on it. If Guns N Roses ever make the Rock Roll Hall of Fame, itll be coz of Appetite. If you like The Darkness, then remember this, without GnR theyre be no Darkness. By the way, I still have the tape that I got for xmas, warps and all. And I still listen to it........ Was this review helpful? I must say, Im sick of the radio hits by now, but this album contains many tracks the mainstream forgot about that are must-haves in my book. I saw GNR live once and they are great, but Ill never forgive you Axl for what you said about Nirvana in Seattle. Axl is the biggest jackass that ever lived. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 10/4/2005A review of Appetite For Destruction [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by PSU_Dan1 One of the best metal albums ever made, period. I place it number two of the 80's, after Metallica's "...And Justice For All," but you may not agree. In any case, if you've been under a rock for the last twenty years and haven't heard it, pick it up. If you already own it, good for you. Was this review helpful? Sign In |
