Date  Helpful Rating 4 out of 9 users found this helpful  Quite good but......Posted: 8/12/2005A review of Demon Days by homestar690 A very good CD...but if you only listen to it once.......you're really gonna hate it. It's like Napoleon Dynamite: the more you listen to it, the more you like it. The 2nd or 3rd time you listen to it you'll start to realize all of the amazing sounding choruses that just sound,well, good! Especially in last living souls the verses don't sound too good (Just 2-D saying "Are we the last, living souls." over and over again.) but then the chorus just sounds amazing! It's also the same in "Kids with guns", "La bamba","O green world" and "November has come". The big singles "DARE" and "Feel good inc." are the only real songs you're gonna like the first time you hear them. All in all, this is a great album, but it's really weird and really not my style of music. So I give it a 4 out of 5. Great if you have a thing for slow pop music. Was this review helpful? WHO EVER SAYS RAP AND ROCK CAN NOT BE TOGETHER MUST NOT HAVE HEARD THIS ALBUM. Songs such as "Feel Good Inc." draw you in, while others like "Every Planet We Reach is Dead" keep the listener with their unique melodies and lyrics. There are so many new meliodies that we haven't heard from the Gorillaz. They mix new with their old better then any band i have heard. They know what their fans like and they keep it going while changing their style a tenth of a degree to keep the listener intreaged. Over all thought of this CD? AMAZING! I mean, Feel Good Inc may sould good (maybe its the title doing sublimial messages), but really the other songs are the same! It's like a video game music and bored and dull and bland voices in one! What kind of combination is that? That's werider than ketchup and peanut putter together! To save ur money (a whopping $11.88) pls don't buy it. Ok, that is just the terrible, man, $@&*ing terrible. I dont understand a single $@&*ing word they said. That "Feel Good INC." music video, It more like a $@&*ing strip club. Bloody awesome!! ALTHOUGH you do need a completely open point of view on music to really appreciate this band.. If you absolutely loved "feel good inc" but you havent listened to the gorrilaz before then i sugest you LISTEN TO THEM NOW otherwise you might HATE this album when you get it!! They are a different band to what people expect. If your like me and LOVE them!! Then you definitly need to get "demondays"! What I liked about this album is that you can completely lose yourself in their (gorillaz) world. A real good line up of songs with a lot of different styles! I reccomend "Last Living Souls" "O Green World" "Dirty Harry" "El Manana" "feel good inc" Oh what the hell? I reccomend the whole lot!!!! Just buy the album if you liked their old one because trust me..they have got sooo much better while still keeping their style and those awesome beats!! Gorillaz is a great band with an original style, and not to mention great art. Every song on this CD is better than the last, or equal. When i first heard fell good inc, i thought to myself i need to get this album. That song had an amazing beat, by to my great disappointment there was not another good song on the album. The album almost put me asleep in my car. This caused me to go the wrong way down a one way street, almost crashing my car. I wasted 14 dollars on this cd. If you buy this album expecting to find good rock songs, don't waste your time or money.
One postitive thing is the music video for feel good inc is awsome. Maybe thats the reason i bought the album.
Bands i would suggest: Three Days Grace, Simple Plan, System of a Down, Green Day, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, and Unwritten Law. All of these are good rock bands Was this review helpful?
