HERE THE BAND IS FOUND IN TIGHT FORM AND FLEX THEIR TALENTS IN JUST THE RIGHT PLACES. GODSMACKs MUSIC FEELS LIKE A REFRESHING COLD MALLOT BLOW TO THE HEAD, FULL OF ENERGY AND DYNAMICS DERIVING FROM THEIR ACCURATE PARAMETERS. AWAKE POSITIONS ITS TRACKS ADEQUATELY BY STICKING ITS MOST POTENT TRACK (MISTAKES) SMACK IN THE MIDDLE, FOLLOWING IT UP WITH MENTIONABLE TRACKS LIKE (VAMPIRES) AND FINNISHING IT ALL OFF WITH (SPIRAL) WHICH FEELS LIKE THE WORTHY SEQUEL TO VOODOO Was this review helpful? I love to party and rock out and you can with godsmack. Their guitar and drums are da best and so are the lyrix. U can seriously relate to the lyrix. U can just headbang away yer problems. I am still buzzing! They just rocked the house! I have never seen 2 balls to the wall bands before just play for 3 hrs straight! Metallica played for 2 hrs straight with 5 encores! Godsmack is a great band to compliment Metallica, but I hope to see them headline someday on their own. THe Awake album is great. I look forward to the new acoustic album, which will show their versatility. Just balls to the wall! Thats all I can say! Was this review helpful? All the songs are great. If I had to choose just one to by favorite it would have to be Sick Of Life. But for the most of it I love the entire album. The band has a distinctive sound that is not easily mistaken. Lead singer Sully Erna has a great voice. My favorite tracks are Awake, Vampires, and Spiral. Vampires is the best instrumental song I've ever heard. Guitars and drums come together seemlessly to create a sound that stays in your head and that you must hear again and again. Awake is a really good high energy song. Spiral showcases Sully Erna's voice with its almost haunting melody. Other songs in the middle of the album seem almost to blend together. I think what makes a really good album is when you remember each track and each track is different from the next. <br>Some songs sound alike and it takes repeated listenings to differentiate between them. The Journey, an instrumental lead in to Spiral, is a waste of space, but since it is only 49 seconds I will not complain too much about it. Some people say that Godsmack is a knock off of Alice and Chains (it is named for one of their songs) and you can hear the influence, but they clearly have a different sound. Too often rock sounds the same. If you are sick of all the copycat rap rock acts out there check out Godsmack. If you like their singles buy the album- you will not go wrong. Was this review helpful? I went and bought this awesome CD the same day, never have I heard such powerful guitarwork mixed with great lyrics with a singer that actually matches the music he is singing to.... Since the days of ...And Justice For All by Metallica no one has captivated my musical interests like Godsmack.... A very well done to the band....
