If some would say this is just a sad attempt to be Nirvana, I would say, its a good thing they tried to imitate someone good! Not to stray too far from the subject, but I believe Nirvana to be one of the better rock bands to ever exist. This album was closest to that sound and I couldnt be happier. In my opinion, Foo Fighters best album, because it had the most true, down to earth sound, that came straight from the heart. Driving rhythms, voiced chords and hooky riffs, strategic drum beats delivered by master craftsman of the percussive arts, Dave Grohl, and an all-around great flow as an album. Future efforts became too mellow and poppy for me to fully enjoy. There will never be another album like this, a truly inspired work of art. Five stars.

i honestly like dave better solo than i liked his old band. i am a big nirvana fan, too, so i'm not taking a dig at the band as much as i'm complimenting dave's solo work. this record has a great, almost homemade quality to it. i genuinely like every track & still think it may well be the best foo fighters recording, even if it mainly was a solo album.

what a way to get away from nirvana. Dave Grohl kicks onto the scene and creates his first solo, which to me is far superior to any of nirvana's over hyped junk rock. sure the foo figheters never changed the face of music, but they at least make music, and nobody does it better than grohl. this album could be played right through with out a skip, and thats a rare find concidering the time it came out of.

To say that this is a perfect cd is an understatment because this cd is far better than that. I just started to listen to the foo fighters and i've got all of there records. and still this is the best stuff they ever did, with the exception of everlong and a couple other songs from colour and the shape. this is a must have cd.

The Foo Fighters have been my favorite band ever since I first heard them in 1995. In my town, i was pretty much flying solo (but that all changed a few years later). I love this album for its variety of beats and the singing of Dave. Variety is key with me for an album to get good remarks. If you do not have this album, it is TOTALLY worth your money. Foo ROCKS

As good as their newer albums have been, I feel this is the best album by the Foo Fighters. There are many different sounds on the album from "For all the Cows" to "X-Static" to "Weenie Beenie".This album has more range than any of the more recent albums.

The overall sound of their Debut album was for lack of a better word: perfect. It's all rock and nothing too crazy. David Grohl has the best voice. He is a true music genius. Although the Foo Fighters have changed group members over the years, one thing stays the same: Quality. With songs like &quot;I'll stick Around&quot;,&quot;X-Static&quot<br> a and &quot;Wattershed&quot;, this album has spunk. The overall mix of rock and voice made this a great alnum. Buying this album is a must. If you liked Nirvana, then this is your next Nirvana, except this time The FooFighters are here to stay.
