Fiona Apple has quite an interesting and unique history - if you dont believe me, read the bio on this very site. Tidal, while definitely filled with emotion and a clever wordplay and voice that reeked of promise, was completely unsorted. Much like its title, Apples second album is above condensing songs into one simple emotion. In every manner the songs are multi-faceted, with a unique ability to harken to everyone in some way. Limp, the big star of the album, takes a very intense and personal subject and - without rationalizing it - expresses it freely. To quote the title, depth is the greatest of heights, something that Apple easily grasps. I highly reccomend it to anyone who has lived more than eighty days, because if youve lived that long then you can connect with it.

I started liking Fiona Apple when I saw criminal on the music video channel. I like a bunch of songs on her album tidal, but this one just takes the cake! You can have your cake and eat it and eat the icing! She has a booming kick-your-cheeks voice and deserves an award, but hey you already knew that! I swear anyone who hears this will like it. . . Well the people who arent tone deaf anyway. Just buy it, I deffently think its worth it.

If that's even possible. Don't be put off by the long title; this is an amazing album, full of surprises even 6 years later. I still play it ALL the time. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself.

This album is one of the best of the last ten years. It's not a fad that quickly fads like many young artist. This one you can pop in ten years from now and still remember every word to every song. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

This album rocks. Fiona Apple is a great artist. She can sing, play piano, and write great songs. There is not one song I hate or dislike on this album. With the long title, the album is just as intimidating. ";On the Bound"; and ";To Your Love"; are songs that really speak out and grab your attention. ";Limp";'s angry vibe will also catch your attention. ";Love Ridden"; is a song that you can just relax to and listen to the great lyrics of the song. ";Paper Bag"; is a great love song that I know you'd enjoy. ";A Mistake"; is just... a great song. ";Fast As You Can";, my favorite song on ";When the Pawn"; will let you flow through the stunning beats and powerful vibes of this mellow song. ";The Way Things Are"; is one of those songs that you hear on the radio that you'd want to relisten to. ";Get Gone"; is another song powerful with lyrics. Fiona Apple sure put effort in this song. ";I Know";, Fiona Apple says, is ";probably the only song with a happy ending";. It is very appeasing and a great song to jam to.If you want a great, mellow album abundant with mood, buy this album. ";When The Pawn"; is a must-hear and a highly recommended album to listen to. You'll be putting your hopes for Fiona's NEXT album 'On The Bound'.

This album was really really great. She expresses so wonderfully her emotions. In the song I Know I feel like I can hear her heartbreak speak. It is like she is experiencing this pain of some broken relationship at the moment she sings it and it comes through so effortlessly. Her anger and reproach come through on Limp and in the song Fast As You Can it's like her self exploration or something. Love Ridden and On The Bound were my two favorites one the album. Love Ridden for its softness and On The Bound for it's clever lyrics and rawness. I liked this Album better than Tidal. I had heard bad reviews but they were bunk. Anyone who loves a good songwrite and a talented singer/musician would recognize this album as remarkable.

I didn't like Criminal and I figured I wouldn't like this album but after listening to it at a friend's house I had to buy it myself. The lyrics in the songs are amazing. Especially the lyrics for Limp. I would recomend this CD to anyone.

Without a doubt one of the best albums I have ever heard. Fiona Apple is an incredibly gifted song writer who makes you feel all the emotions that she has gone through because at some point you felt them too. The songs on the album have been with me through many a heart ache and they will be for years. I can't wait for her next album.

What is with MSN? This is the second time that I spent my precious typing time writing a lovely, detailed, and all -appraising review, and MSN wipes it away..
So yet again, I'll REVISE --
This is a qoute from my book that will be out this summer. It's not about Fiona Apple, it's about TRUTH/THEORIES/PHILOSOPHY/LIFE<b
con d t goes:
(On the song "I Know")
"Although these lyrics are very poweful, they don't have nearly as much affect when accompanied with music.
Get this CD.
Listen to this song.
It will take over you - I promise.
The vocal inflection makes, to me, what this song is. It is not a poem, silent on paper. It is a full-on feeling, like Bangkok. When I first heard "criminal" I dismissed Fiona Apple as part of the" Lillith" Bandwagon ,but when I heard "fast as you can" , I bought the album and listened to it and I found out what a great songwriter Fiona Apple was.
