This project is not for the general public. If you want the Britneys, Simpsons, Aikens, and so ons, keep looking. Now if you are schooled in Stax, Motown, Aretha, David Ruffins, Janice Joplins, or any one that wasn't afraid of raw emotions and sound buy this thang!!!! I just bought this CD two weeks ago and cannot stop listening to it. I do not usually buy CDs because I think they cost too much money but this was money well spent. From my favorite anthem: "Baby Mama" to "Truth is" to "It's All Good" and beyond. She takes me there.
I can truly hear this young woman as the next legendary singer on the scale of an Aretha Franklin or Patti LaBelle. You have got to have this CD in your collection!!

Her voice soars above the instrumentals to bring out the essence of her, fantasia! Yes, no doubt many have labeled her as the woman with a 'different' voice...well, I am not an exception.. I too quote her as one with a 'different' voice, a UNIQUE voice that is.. in all the good sense of that word.
I forsee Fantasia going on to greater heights in the near future... move over mary j Blidge, here comes Fantasia.

I really dug what your cousin said and I agree with him! I'm a baby mama x4 and I made it out of the 'hood. I still struggle every day, but I have a Testimony for the youngin's ( I'm 42 yrs. old) and so do you. I can tell in your voice that you have been thru some things. I can also hear my Heritage and History in your Delivery. I praise your album! when I saw you on T.V. during your audition, I KNEW You were gonna be MY AMERICAN IDOL! Keep God and Family close. Yes her voice is unique takes some getting use to but she can sing. I just love her version of "Always on My Mind" and "Free Yourself"...wow!!

She has a classic R&B vibe. It reminds of Mary J., Faith Evans, and Aretha Franklin. Her voice is so sultry. It relaxes you and puts you in a right of mind.
