His vivid story-telling was like none other of that time and he reminded us all of what rap music once was with Tupac, Biggy, Nas and Common, and revibrated the genre with his innovative imagination. It wasnt so much as the albums initial contoversy that made him a danger to mothers aross the nation, it was the fact that he made certain that we all knew that he wasnt in it for the 15 minutes of fame, and that he had longevity in his loud and outspoken voice. The album is a hip hop classic and was just a foot-in-the-door for what Eminems career would do. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 7/25/2005A review of The Slim Shady LP [Explicit] [Explicit] by Evil_Genius_V8 a five star album... or should i say a five mic album if this was the source magazine (which this is not) i would probably be about to tell u how much of an insult this album was to pop culture. but fortunately i don't work for them, hell i don't even work for any type of magazine. but any open-minded person can easily see that what makes eminems first mainstream album such a hot ticket is the fact that he truly is a "renegade." I will definetely be the first to say that maybe sometimes marshall may go a little to far with his lyrics, but at the same time i would also have to call that a "necassary evil." eminem has been undoubtedly the most advanced lyricst of his day. his unmatched vocabulary and his poetic style compliment each other in such a way that it makes this rapper unbelivable. eminem may be compared to many rappers and it will be hard to find anyone who is half of the lyrical genius he is, which leads me to my last couple of words maybe eminems next album should be titled after his own thoughts "thoughts of an evil genius."
buy the album, buy all his albums, find the underground music, like nike says just do it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 6 out of 8 users found this helpful Posted: 1/25/2005A review of The Slim Shady LP [Explicit] [Explicit] by merrywillows Marshall Mathers took the rapping industry by storm in the year 1999.He did not do this by rapping about being a number one stunner or putting half naked girls in his videos, but by simply using vocabulary and the english language for which we are rightly blessed with.My frioends don't understand how i could like eminem. Do you want to Know why they dont like him because they cannot flex to his songs and that is the main reson why i like him so much .I find him deep some how .Is not that i can relate is just that i am addicted to good music. the Slim Shady album is the best break through album of all time in my book.
I want eminem to keep up the good work
P.S.LOVE HIS CRAZY SENSE OF HUMOUR TOO. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 1/21/2005A review of The Slim Shady LP [Explicit] [Explicit] by malishiaman Eminem's first album, "The Slim Shady Lp", is a masterpiece.
To start off, his public service announcement was self explanitory.
Highlights include Guilty Conscience, Just Don't Give A #%*(, If The World Turns, Brain Damage, and Still Don't Give A #%*(.
This whole cd is hardcore, the hardest of his albums. The Marshall Mathers LP is also hard. His latest effort, Incore, has some good tracks, but not like this album.
If you are a hardcore rapper like me, or if you just are a listener, purchase it. Was this review helpful? This is by far my most favorite album yet because it has lots of his anger and vulgar disses. This album is better than the Eminem Show because in he isnt as funny in the other one. this is the worlds best album and every one should own it!! And SKEW all the other rappers Was this review helpful? Sign In |
