= The song "Ghost of a Dog" itself is attitudinaly the kind of neo-dadaism one tended to hear in the late 80s and early 90s as meanwhile paisley had somehow made a comeback along with Nehru collars, and folks were dancing with their shoes off again and making tie-dye shirts, and living on mac-n-cheese, and sleeping on the floor even when they didn't have to, etc... but this BAND was a potential gargantuan sounding "Jam-Band," so much the rage at the moment (2004) and the jazz-leaning guitars are heavilly laden with multiple chorus effects... Edie Herself can knock a listener over with her lyrical honesty much like Kate Bush and even Harriet Wheeler. and every great once in a while, her voice actually gets a little scratchiness thing going for it, which is very endearing to my ears anyway... overall, this is a quite under-rated and under-appreciated lp by a group that could-have-been among the greatest U.S. bands for decades, and source of pride for Dallas, not that they need any more...<br>best song in my view: "Forgiven" - very VERY lovely and powerful...=
