Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 11/26/2004A review of Believe [Clean] by Anonymous Believe is a great album, just as good as the Sickness. Not only is it loud and heavy like on songs such as Liberate, Intoxication, and Bound, it's also a little lighter and more meaningful on Prayer, Darkness, Believe, and Remember, and the bass solo on Believe, is just brilliant. The top songs are Prayer, Believe, Remember, and Mistress. Was this review helpful? This song is a perfect representation of what they can do. Liberate is full of energy and power but fills the mind with interest and emotion at the same time.

This album is an amazing musical achievment. It has a lot of very good songs whereas The Sickness has a few amazing songs...Believe has a better balance. Was this review helpful? Oh, and the last ones I heard about: Post-Hardcore, Sadcore and Slowcore. What's that all about?
Anyway, if I would have to critique "Believe" by my favorite band Disturbed I would have to say that is one of the best Metal albums that I've heard in a long time. And this is coming from somebody that was not even a heavy metal fan/listener up until a few years ago. I think it's very well balanced with the right level of core and good, profound lyrics that actually offer a message.
David Draiman has an amazing versatile voice, and he proves it in "Darkness" (track #12), the only slow song in the album. I saw them live at Ozzfest '03, and David's voice sounds almost identical to the CD, so you know he's the real thing.
I remember that I bought "Believe" some time ago (along with the band's debut "The Sickness"), but like many people I only listened to the "radio hits", such as "Prayer". One time I remember I fell asleep listening to the whole album on my headphones, and the next morning I just knew that I had totally fallen in love with it. Now I listen to the CD almost everyday in my car. My favorite tracks are "Believe" and "Breathe", but there are no bad songs in this album, I promise.
With "Believe", Disturbed's second album, they're sticking to their signature style but it seems like they have matured musically and personally, because you can see that in the lyrics. I just can't wait to listen to their next album. Was this review helpful? It's constantly great songs. The first album was good, but Believe blows it out the water. It's great to sing along to as well-it's so catchy. This is a "must buy" album. Was this review helpful? Dan Donegan is definitely one of the best riff writers around today. Combined with Dave's vocals, they are unbeatable. "Believe" has made it to my TOP 10 OF ALL TIME list. It is just a great rollercoaster ride of music, from foot in the face 'Liberate' to emotional 'Darkness' it is a true masterpiece. On top of that, they rock in concert as well. I think that American Idol should start playing this instead. ROCK ON!! Was this review helpful? I like it a lot. In fact, I'm going to turn off the MSN radio and listen to this CD right now. SO BUY IT. It rox. Ok...that's rather nebulous. Anyway...Prayer is a great song. The whole album is about believing. All the songs are great, and the philosophy behind it (it doesn't matter what you believe in, just as long as you believe in something*) is a good one. Prayer is the best song on there...but other than that they all are pretty equally good. Was this review helpful?
