Having been a DMB fan since I heard "Ant's Marching" on the radio, I can confidently say I've been there from the beginning and had the opportunity to listen to the Band's sound mature and transform over their various albums. But, from the funky, syncopated sounds of "The Best of What's Around" to the smooth jazzy rythms of "#34" I'm hard pressed to name a more unique album in today's world of redundancy and simplicity. "Under the Table and Dreaming" is a showcase of the immense virtuosity and range of this extremely talented group. From Dave's harsh cries of anguish on "Rhyme & Reason" to his seductive croning on "Lover Lay Down", listeners of all genre's can find something to enjoy. If you don't already have this album, pick it up and give it a listen. If you've already purchased it, throw it in your stereo and give it another spin. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

This could almost be considered a best-of-album for DMB. Every song is very good. Oddly enough, the radio hits off of this album are the worst songs on here. I skip right over them. Ants Marching sounds like a John Mellancamp cover. However, all the others are imaginative and dreamworthy. Dave has an imagination and curiousity like a child. It really shows through on here. Crash is a very, very close second; but this is the one for DMB fans.

This is, with out a doubt, my favorite DMB CD (impressive, considering they are also my fav. band). Some of the best songs: Satellite, Ants Marching (which is pretty much on all of their cd's), and The Best Of What's Around. DMB is similar, but not the same as, John Mayer, Coldplay, Guster etc. If you are just a casual DMB fan, then I would get one of the live cd's (it will have more of the hit singles), but if you are a hard-core fan, then definately make the purchase of UNDER THE TABLE AND DREAMING.

I have been a DMB fan for five years now, and i love UTAD! It is excellent. That's all i have to say. I know it is short, and not necessarilyhelpful to you, but you would not be here if you did not have some interest in the band.

I think this album is classic DMB... no complaints.. well i've never had any complaint on the band... there is not a bad DMB song. They are my favorite band and they always be. Songs like Jimi thing, Rhyme and Reason, ants marching, #34, are what make the album special... DMB keep it up. You've inspired me to pursue acoustic guitar playing since 1994... i love u guys. peace

UTD was my first DMB album and it was &quot;love at first listening&quot;. A friend of mine got it from somebody else and she didn't enjoy it so she gave it to me. It was the best present I could ever get, 'cause, after that one, I could never stop listening to Dave and to DMB. When I heard Dave singing &quot;Love Lay Down&quot;, my heart was taken forever and just to realize how beautifully he could sing about simple things like a satellite or life, made me think: forget it! This is IT! Finally there's somebody out there singing something other than all the commonplace songs we have to listen to every day. And I knew it, from that album on, I'd found somebody who would always take me musically and emotionally to places I had always dreamed of. I admire Dave Matthews love and compromise not only for his music, but also for the members of the band: Carter, Boyd, Stefan and Leroi.<br>They're the best!!!
