Coldplay outdid themsleves with this album! The Music is of a beauty that is rarely seen, but I have 1 problem when listening to this album, the lyrics are drowned in sweett, cheap sentimentallity, thats why some songs, like green eyes, is what I call a chic-flick... If you can see this in perspective, you wont be bothered by this level of fake emo, and youre sure to enjoy your purchase as much as I did.

Parachutes was raw and emotional with deep lyrics, and XY hit hard with its catchy pop tunes and guitar rifts. A Rush of Blood to the Head is a perfect blend of these two albums. It is constructed of songs which have both the qualities of the first and the third album. If you like Coldplays other albums, you are in for a real treat. It is beautifully constructed the opening song, Politik, is a burst of energy and passion which will blow you away with the strong, raw guitar rift. Up until track 6, Coldplay would have given you four equally excellent songs, all with passionate and meaningful lyrics you got from the first album. From track 6 to track 9, the album becomes rather more atmospheric, and the songs become more layered. This is the section of the album where you will get the most consistant, hypnotic guitar sounds of the album. A whisper is probably the song that fits this description most closely. After A Whisper, the title track A Rush of Blood to the Head, kicks in. This is the point in the album at which it almost snaps its fingers after the previous hazy tracks. Its angry lyrics make it stand out from the rest of the album. It is a strong, raw ballad, and it really is a rush of blood to your head. The album finishes wish Amsterdam, a mellow track with a beautiful sounding vocals that leaves you in awe by the end. It is probably their track that closely resembles Fix You from XY, as it has the whole band singing, with a powerful ending. A perfect concluding track to a near perfect album. If you buy this album, it definitely will not be a dissapointment, especially if you take the take the time to listen to it all the way through. Its a must have album, 5 stars, well worth the buy. You know a band is good when every song they produce is better than the last. Coldplay is simply the best band that has come along in a while.

This album, in my opinion is the best and truest of the Colplay's three. It's what made many fall in love with their overly-mello (but lovingly so) style. It is impossible for one to listen to any of the tracks and not contemplate something. The creative rhyming schemes and unusual musical parts blend into a stew of utter bliss. That is porbably this album's best description--utter bliss.

My ex sang this song to me after he asked me how long I was willing to wait for him. It's so sad and I love the way it feels when I here it, it's the best one off this album. I love you brian!

After Parachutes, Coldplay entered the studio for their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head. It's so cold, and yet it brings warm to the listener, taking them in and keeping them there until the album is finished. "Politik" brings a crashing but very effective start to the album. A very political song, its music is soft, then loud, then soft again, and the lyrics are awesome. Then there is the song that inspired the rest of the album to begin with, "In My Place", a huge song with great guitar work from Jon Buckland. "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" is most likely the best rock song on this album, with awesome guitar work and really effective lyrics. Then comes the best song from the album, "The Scientist", whom Martin and Buckland themselves claim is the greatest thing that they have written. It's so dark and so hopeless that it captures the listener inside and makes them want to cry. "Clocks" is a magnificant song with the best piano work that I've heard out of a lot of songs. It has to be my favorite song here (strange because I hardly ever think that the biggest song from a cd is the best). "Daylight" sweeps in with the guitar strings swaying, effectively taking your ears through a dream. "Green Eyes" is a wonderful song, with great acoustic work, inspired by American country musicians. "Warning Sign" is a really great love song, starting fast and ending with a beautiful piano solo. "A Whisper" drives the guitar away from the piano with effectively pulsing guitar work. The title track is a great song with great lyrics, ending as the longest song on the album. And at last, "Amsterdam" brings the album to a close, going from slow to fast this time. Its beautiful piano work and lyriics take you inside Martin's heart. A Rush of Blood is worth every second. It's so driving and so melancholy that it effectively makes you want to appreciate everything that you do have. It makes you wonder if Coldplay could ever make anything better than this.

This is one of the best albums in years. You can realize that after only listening to this CD after the first time. They are what they are, you can classify them as pop, rock, whatever. Any genre you wish to place them in, they are just excellent. Parachutes was an awesome debut, but this one is just ten times more brilliant. Their new album, X & Y, is going to have a hard time living up to this.

Ok, this is by far, the best album coldplay has done. I am writing this after hearing all the rest of there albums. They are well on there way of becoming the most influencial band of all time and set a standard that has not been matched yet. 5 stars for coldplay, keep up the good work.

I'll start by defending the latter half of the album, which seems to be the part everyone critisises when they're looking for someting to nitpick about this amazing album. While it's not as brilliant as the first five songs, it's still makes for great listening. This album means so much to me as it helped me get through a very difficult Christmas during my last year in secondary school with the song The Scientist being a big help. That's probably why it's so popular. The overall album is almost flawless as you can listen to it without skipping any tracks. Some of the tracks don't make for easy listening but that's part of the album's charm. The standout tracks are the first 5, with The Scientist being my favourite. This isn't supposed to be a happy album as they struggled to make it after the success of Parachutes. However that's all the better for it as Coldplay sound better miserable than happy. It's also a wonderful album for anyone who loves playing piano. Get the music and impress your friend's with the piano riff from Clocks! Highly recommended and a much better effort than their third album, which just doesn't sound as good as this album for some reason.
