Date ![]() Helpful Rating 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 7/1/2003A review of Here Come The Warm Jets by GrahamLong After departing from Roxy Music due to "creative" differences, Brian Eno set about creating his own album, and he did a fine good job with his debut. The album starts off superbly with "Needles in the Camel's Eye" featuring Eno's signature treated guitars. "Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch" is a funny song with a very odd bridge section of keyboard sounds. "Blank Frank" will jolt you out of your seat, and "Here Come the Warm Jets" is a perfect closing song that slowly builds into a crescendo of humming guitars and steady drum beats. While some of the middle songs are a bit weak ("Driving Me Backwards" borders on being unlistenable) this is far better stuff than is released nowadays, and sets the stage well for Eno's later work. Listen to this album first to prepare you for his later work. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-1 of 1 Per Page |
