I just got back from Bonnaroo, and their live show does their CD more justice. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 3/31/2005A review of Brazilian Girls by Taleatia Brazilian Girls have a very laid-back and worldly sound. If pressed for a genre I guess I'd say a combination of trip-hop and 'world' music (whatever that means). The bass is live and very up front and the refreshingly uncomplicated, catchy beats are punctuated by horns. The tracks are all seamlessly arranged and produced, but for me, the biggest selling point of this album is the vocals. The woman singing has a really beautiful voice and killer bored-sounding delivery. The music overall kind of has a seductive feel but also a sense of humor (for example, the song "^*#$@", one of my favs). Highly reccomended. Was this review helpful?
