Out of all the good songs, Are You Still Mad makes this a platinum album. Was this review helpful? She clearly and evidently feels her music, and doesn't do anything but be herself when she performs. It's a raw look at her, with a good band backing her up.
While this album isn't everything 1995's "Jagged Little Pill" was, it's still well-constructed, and forward in her unique direction. "Baba," "Would Not Come," "Thank U," and "Joining You" are tracks that echo in the mind.
It may take a few listens, but is overall very good.

It screams "Enlightenment!" and demands awareness. To not have your eyes opened by this album is to be hopelessly blind.¤ eliana ¤ Was this review helpful? After I got ";Under Rug Swept";, I bought ";Jagged Little Pill"; and I was fighting myself... deciding whether or not I wanted this album. Well, I listened to JLP, loved it, borrowed this one from a friend, loved it, bought it. No, really, this is probably my favorite Alanis CD. ";Heart of the House"; is so beautiful... so pure (";So Pure"; is an awesome song). What else do I like about this album? I love ALL OF THE SONGS. What can I say rather than this album is great? It has passion, love, peace and calm on every song. The deep reflection that Alanis went through all those years of travelling forced her to be faithful 2 herself, and the result is one of the best albums of all the history. Sons like ";Front row";, ";UR";,";I was hoping"; ";So pure"; and ";Unsent"; show us this grown up Alanis who's willing to make the pease with the past. Others, like ";One";, ";Baba"; and ";Thank u"; represents her new ideals, much higher than what u may see on JLP.And is remarcable for this album the discovery of other feelings, like in ";Heart of the house";, where she sings to her mother and ";Joning u";, for a old friend. To make it short, SFIJ is the masterpìece of this wonderful artist, with a music style that cannot be surpassed Was this review helpful? Alanis is the best kind of singer/song writer, she tells how she fells in this album, and that is a good trait for singers. I think it is unbelievable how she does it....I love her music!
