Perfect is the best song Ive ever heard. Hands Down. Was this review helpful? It was the first album I ever got on CD format, and thats part of why I treasure it. Anyway, back to the listening part. This album is so good that it sounds fresh even after a decade! Its the kind of record on which you dont skip any track and youre even patient enough to get to the hidden one (an a capella gem!). Was this review helpful? All the songs are very good and the lryics are to. All I Really Want makes Jagged Little Pill a platinum album. Was this review helpful? This album seems to be mostly inspired by heartbrreak and who hasn't had their heart broken or ripped out without remorse? We all have so I think this is a good listen for anyone. A few filler songs and some that maybe relate to the "angst of generation X". If the guys out their want a bit more muscular music to reflect their heartbreak, check out Type O Negative's "Bloody Kisses". Was this review helpful? This album is jagged, indeed. Raw. She's a strange one, but undeniable. Her sound will take time to grow to the first time listener, if there are any. Ten years have gone by since this album, and a lot has happened in music, which perhaps could be an indication of a second-coming. She was huge, then, even though releasing albums, all but disappeared, and opinions of her seemed to change. With hope, she will either re-surface, or be remembered someday in an Alanis-athon somewhere. Time has a funny way of making amnesiacs out of listeners...it's easy to forget how good some music sounded back in its heyday.

No. This is great quality music from beggining to end. I've been listening to this CD since I was five and my whole family loves it. When I revisited it eight years later I was able to appreciate the depth and great sound of the music. How can you not love this CD? "You Oughta Know" is a great song, but probably more a woman's anthem so I can't appreciate it that much. I've never heard, and probably never will hear again, a song like "One Hand In My Pocket". It's just an amazing sounding peice of music. "Perfect" is touching, "Not the Doctor" is empowering, and "All I Really Want" deserves notice for its lyrics. The rest of the CD is of the same quality and if you don't like her than you have no taste in music. Was this review helpful? The best rockin' girl since Pat Benatar. This album is flawless, showing her indomitable will and her vulnerability at the same time. A classic album and a must own. Was this review helpful? She can pick up a guitar, harmonica or a mic and speak her mind in the most beautiful way. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 4 users found this helpful Posted: 7/7/2004A review of Jagged Little Pill by Doctor_Nick04 though the song Ironic came under much ridicule for nothing in it being ironic at all, that just spurred attention payed to this magnificent album. Alanis truely does showcase her oustsanding vocal abilities while showing that she can write one heck of a good song. Add to that bass legend Flea and guitar god Dave Navarro on the same track with a pissed off catholic school girl (You Oughta Know), you know this album is a great. And the fact that nothing on Ironic is ironic, causing people to misconstrue what ironic means and have critics call it a misuse of a word istelf makes the song extremely ironic (done purposefully i'm sure.) Alanis, if you read this: Thank you! (no joke intended) Was this review helpful? Its deserves all the recognition and praise that it got. When it came out in 1995 there weren't too many lead female rock singers, which eventually opened up to so many great talents. Each song is catchy in its own way. Each individual song differs in its own way. You take a song that is slower such as Perfect and then there is songs like All I really Want or Ironic. There is something for everyone. And even if people don't want to admit it, once or twice in there life time i'm sure they were once singing an Alanis Morissette song to themsleves. To wrap this up, i just want to say. If you haven't even listned to this album before go out and buy it because it is worth every single penny. Was this review helpful? It doesn't matter if you are 15 or 45, you can really connect with the things that she sings. She has such a great, unique voice. I think the way that she connects with all age groups is what makes her such a great artist. If you don't have this cd,I STRONGLY recommend that you get it. She really stands for girl power. Keep on Rockin Alanis!! Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 3 users found this helpful Posted: 2/15/2004A review of Jagged Little Pill by Kaleigh1000 This is my all time favorite CD.
