Critic's Review:
It's almost criminal how much Austin, TX, trio Vally Lemmons sounds like Green Day. But when the imitation is this infectious, it's sincerity can't be questioned. Despite an unfortunate choice in cover art, Punk Rock Revolution is a tirelessly engaging album, full of two- and three-minute bursts of pop-punk that hit on the best of 1,039/Smoothed-era Green Day. On "She's Got to Be," "Fashions Fade," and especially "No Sympathy," Lemmons vocalist/bassist Chris Benitez whines in his best Billie Joe Armstrong, while brother Dave Benitez' bursts of distortion on "Apple" are siphoned directly from Dookie's gas tank. Nevertheless, Vally Lemmons sell their material with aplomb, mixing in the cheeky humor of the Dead Milkmen and Nerf Herder, and occasionally letting their inner hair metal band appear. A Punk Rock Revolution this definitely isn't. But that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide
