Unwritten Law's first album for Interscope Records finds the group toughening up their sound, turning down their pop influences in favor of raw guitars and a weird neo-mysticism. That combination helps distinguish Unwritten Law from their contemporaries, and while they sometimes get mired in their own ambitions, they still have made a record that's better than many retro-punk albums of the late '90s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
