Critic's Review:
The Beat Goes On serves up a solid offering of the flowing melodies and catchy riddims that make up the best dancehall tunes. Singer Devonte and DJ Tanto Metro represent one of dancehall's hottest teams. Their tasty combination of rough toasting and silky crooning lend balanced enjoyment to all of their hits. The Beat Goes On contains a good collection of well-produced hits; from the smokin' title track, to "Love Me Forever," an innovative take on the Paul Abdul smash, to "The Story," a brilliant jazz-flavored song, complete with scatting and a sizzling Dean Fraser sax solo. ~ Rosalind Cummings-Yeates, All Music Guide
