Critic's Review:
As T Spigot, producers Spunky and Gilmore produce the kind of music that makes the job of a chillout-compilation assembler less demanding; the 13 tracks on Experiments in the Hypnotic Production of Crime are tailor-made for the type of mediocre chillout discs that took up so much space in record-store bins during the early 2000s. With the tracks either inspired by or constructed of rare funk and hip-hop records, the duo puts together a set of very average but mildly enjoyable instrumentals. Despite the fact that a blurb on the back of the disc states, "T Spigot has gone without a recommendation for fartoo (sic) long," nothing on the album remains in the memory after being played. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
