The second CD from Seis del Solar (Ruben Blades' main backup group in the 1980s) is the band's finest recording to date. Seis del Solar's instrumentation had changed (tenor saxophonist Bobby Franceschini had replaced the synthesizers of Arturo Ortiz) and the group was a bit more jazz-oriented. Guest Michael Mossman makes a few appearances on flügelhorn. Occasional group vocals uplift the music, the rhythm section generally burns, and the band sounds quite tight. Highly recommended for Afro-Cuban jazz collectors. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
