Critic's Review:
As the cousin of Busta Rhymes, Rampage had a bit to prove on his debut album, Priority One. Fortunately, he acquits himself well on the record, proving that he is nearly the equal of Busta's insane rhyming and dense musical production. Working with DJ Scratch, DJ Backspin and Rashad Smith, Rampage creates funky, menacing soundscapes that are perfectly suited to his wild, careening rhymes. While he's not as inventive or freaky as Busta, he has his own style -- one that's harder and more controlled -- and that makes Priority One a hardcore hip-hop debut of the first order. [Scouts Honor...By Way of Blood was released in an edited version with all of the profanity removed.] ~ Leo Stanley, All Music Guide
