Critic's Review:
Given that Pat Smear has been involved in so many semi-legendary punk and rock outfits, it's rather interesting to consider the possibilities of his personal work. Unfortunately, So You Fell in Love seems more like a one-off side project than a polished work in which Smear was heavily invested. As such, it can't answer too many questions about Smear's personal musical goals. It's an interesting record regardless -- its tracks are dim, dense, dirty, and drawling, with sludgy guitar riffs shooting in every direction -- but there's also a sense of well-constructed composition, and Smear approaches oddly poppy moments on tracks like "Lulu Belle." ~ Nitsuh Abebe, All Music Guide
