Critic's Review:
The third release by King Kooba, breakbeat collective extraordinaire, ventures far away from the realm of breakbeat house and into a land that can only be classified as 'funky downbeat' with plenty of breaks, textures and scratching. By no means should you expect the kind of energy found on a typical breaks or funk offering -- 95 percent of this album is laid-back in the extreme. Songs such as "Fooling Myself", with delicious vocals provided by Melissa Heathcote, and "Lexy's Drop", with its distorted MC voiceovers and grooving bassline, are languid and almost soporific. The title track, on the other hand, has plenty of funky attitude. Though this album never really gets past second gear, it's easy on the ears and surprisingly addictive. ~ L. Katz, All Music Guide
