For the second time in a little over three months, pianist Johnny O'Neal recorded an album for Parkwood with bassist Dave Young and drummer Terry Clarke. The live set has plenty of spirit, with O'Neal exploring standards ranging from Wayne Shorter's "Fe Fi Fo Fum" and Blue Mitchell's catchy "Fuji Momma" to Cedar Walton's "Ugetsu" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." A fine outing well deserving of being reissued on CD. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
