Critic's Review:
Vibraphonist Emil Richards' "Yazz Band" essentially played a rhythmic form of Latin-jazz. Comprised of the leader, pianist Paul Moer, bassist Al McKibbon and three percussionists, the group performs three originals, three jazz standards and a couple of Thelonious Monk tunes; highlights include "Friday the 13th," "Little Niles" and "Half and Half." Unfortunately the original liner notes are duplicated on this CD reissue in microscopic fashion and the exact recording date is not given. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
