Dom Cortese, the consummate session accordionist, is described in liner notes as being well-rounded and having superb tone. Great sound and competent playing are to be expected from his work on the Time and Command labels, whether as sideman or soloist. On Accordion Continental Mr. Cortese appears with Tony Mottola, Frank Carroll, and Bob Rosengarden.
There are two great tracks among generally middling, downtempo fare -- "Piccadilly" and "O Apito No Samba" are worth the purchase alone. To his credit, Cortese does pick interesting, unusual tunes. ~ Tony Wilds, All Music Guide
