A Tribute To Segovia

Critics' Reviews

amg review
This is a well-balanced set that finds Christopher Parkening playing selections from Spanish composers, including Segovia. A former student, and heir apparent. Parkening's impeccable technique, subtle feel, and perfect tone are all on display here; however, it is the sensitivity in his playing that has always separated him from his contemporaries. His performances are always first class, so in recommending one, it is more dependent on the listener's choice of material rather than how they are executed. A wonderful casual listen but also one worthy of intense scrutiny. ~ Robert Taylor, Rovi
