Critic's Review:
For Chad Brock, it looks like the third time's a charm. Brock has been making great music for quite some time, but up until now it seems that he has been shifting around musically, trying to find his niche in country music. It's like the old game of pegs where one tries to put the round peg in the round hole, the square peg in the square hole, and so on. With the release of III, Chad Brock seems to have all of his pegs in the right spot. Brock never abandons the fun country style, with songs like "Park the Pick-Up (Kiss the Girl)" and "Livin' in Las Vegas" running in a similar vein to past hits "Yes!" and "Lightning Does the Work." Some better-than-average ballads pop up on this CD, too; the best one is "The Lie," a song about a woman who pays the price of one infidelity with a permanent reminder. Brock takes a chance by including "Population Minus One," a song that features spoken verses and a singing chorus. That doesn't always work, but Brock manages to pull it off without leaving a cheesy residue on the CD. No doubt about it, Chad Brock is a vocalist who continues to entertain with his third album. ~ Rick Cohoon, All Music Guide
