Critic's Review:
Adults only please! Barbara Carr's hot, risqué Southern soul tales are too explicit for the kiddies and will shock most adults. The titles -- "Long on Talk, Short on Love," "Bone Me Like You Own Me," and "If the Lord Keeps the Thought of You out of Mind, I'll Keep Your Booty out of My Bed" -- speak volumes. On "Livin' a Lie," Carr is miserable because her husband supplies but doesn't satisfy; she's totally off the wall on "Bit Off More Than You Could Chew" and "Show Me No Mercy." Every song is delivered in Barbara's tough-as-nails style, and she's ably assisted by a crack production crew. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
