Grabbing the baton passed to him by Louie Devito (who gave him co-production credits on a few NYC Underground Party collections), Bad Boy Joe hooked up for What If Productions for his own freestyle megamix, and aside from a few sound-quality issues, basically lives up to the title. Announcing that school is in session with a history-of-freestyle intro, Joe spins through 21 great tracks and hits most of the classics: "No Reason to Cry" by Judy Torres, "Give Me Tonight" by Shannon, "Fantasy Girl" by Johnny O, "The Mexican" by Jellybean, "Tears May Fall" by TKA, and "Show Me" by the Cover Girls. Though the sound isn't as crisp as it should be, Bad Boy Joe's Best of Freestyle Megamix is an excellent freestyle primer. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
