amg review
Originally released as Rosen aus dem Suden in 2010, Dutch violinist André Rieu continued his prolific output with this repackaged collection released just in time for Mother's Day, You Raise Me Up: Songs for Mum. Omitting three numbers from the original version ("La Montagne," "La Ballade des Gens Heureux," and "Ballade Pour Adeline"), its 16 tracks include orchestral reworkings of pop ballads (Secret Garden's "You Raise Me Up," Bette Midler's "The Rose"), show tunes ("I Dreamed a Dream," "Send in the Clowns"), and classical pieces from Bixio ("Mamma") and Lehár ("Love Live Forever"). ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
