Critic's Review:
The guitars are much higher in the mix than they were previously, and the mood is much darker. Songwriter Neil Osborne succumbs to cynicism on "Cheer Up Peru" and despair on "Hooked on Bliss." Seven of the 12 songs were written in Europe, which possibly provides a clue to his mood. The sound is dense and driven. This is the Canadian band's version of Monster by R.E.M. ~ Mark Allan, All Music Guide
