The figure of the hot mom was largely (though not entirely) unexplored in pop
music before wiseacre indie popsters Fountains of Wayne offered this unabashedly
carnal declaration of a teenager's lust for his would-be girlfriend's mom, who,
... morefar more than her more age-appropriate daughter, has "got it going on." Given a
high-sheen Cars-esque production, with full-blown '80s keyboards and a chorus
that sticks in your head like a pick-ax, the song was a big hit for these
chronic underachievers, and a tribute to foxy mothers everywhere.
