Carrie Underwood's heretofore-unknown turn-ons apparently include frigid arenas, flying elbows and the gentle hum of the Zamboni. The Ottawa Citizen says the big-haired country star, 25, is smitten with strapping Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher, 28, who plays center for the Senators.
Seems the wholesome twosome not only rang in the new year together, but Carrie was also spied sitting in a VIP box at Toronto's Air Canada Centre last weekend with Fisher's parents and brother as his team lost to the Maple Leafs. "I think it's serious. I mean, he's really happy with her," Ottawa fitness trainer and Fisher pal Tony Greco blabs to the paper. "They're a perfect match." The NHL-er, however, is keeping his lip zipped on his wooing agenda. "I can't comment on anything in my personal life, so that's about all I can say," he deflected on Monday. "I don't really want to say anything." According to the paper, Underwood and Fisher first met in March 2008, when he turned up backstage at her Ottawa concert. Not long after, the "Jesus, Take the Wheel" warbler announced that she and pretty-boy "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford had nonconfrontationally ended their brief romance, informing "Extra," "We broke up over text, so ... it's like 'peace out.'" In October, she was seen in the company of former "The Bachelor: Paris" headliner Dr. Travis Stork, although neither confirmed dating reports (she also spent quality time with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo before he hooked up with Jessica Simpson). If the romance rumblings turn out to be true, Underwood will become the latest blonde to find love on the ice. Other members of the club include Hilary Duff, who's been dating New York Islanders center Mike Comrie since 2007, and Elisha Cuthbert, who fell for the elusive charms of caddish and indefinitely suspended Dallas Stars player Sean "Sloppy Seconds" Avery before trading up to Calgary Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf. |
