Popular Searches 1Comment Aug 16, 2012 8:51AM I was in the Army stationed in Germany at the time, we only had one American radio station AFRS. I was driving into work the morning of the 17th, the whole way in the radio played Elvis, Elvis, Elvis. Never once did they mention that he died. I get into the shop, turn on the radio, make coffee. More Elvis. The platoon comes filtering in, I step out in the motor pool and it sounded like an Elvis concert. Back in the office I ask "What's with all the Elvis music? They say "Didn't you hear, Elvis died yesterday!" Could have knocked me over with a feather! I went to the PX & bought every Elvis album they had, @ $4.50 each. I wish I had them now. I remember this like it was yesterday. But the King lives forever through his music. Report Are you sure you want to delete this comment? | ||||
