Nashville stars collaborate with pop, rock and urban peers

Young country artists are fond of pointing out in interviews that they didn't
grow up listening to just country music. Many count rock, pop, R&B and rap
music among their influences, and it often shows not just in the music they
make, but the fellow artists they choose to make it with. That can yield some
