NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) --
Taylor Swift cleaned up at this year's Country Music
Association Awards. The biggest coup was her win of the Entertainer of the Year
award, monumentous for a handful of reasons: She ended Kenny Chesney's reign as repeated Entertainer of the
Year; at 19, she's the youngest artist to ever win; and Swift is the first
female to win the award since Shania Twain took it home in 1999. Swift also won
Album of the Year for "Fearless," Music Video of the Year for "Love Story," and
the Female Vocalist award over Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood.
"I'll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have
ever wanted has just happened to me," Swift said through tears as she accepted
the association's highest honor during ceremonies at Sommet Center.

Brad Paisley and Keith Urban won Musical Event of the
Year for their duet "Start a Band."
Paisley also took the award for Male Vocalist of the Year, winning out over
Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, George Strait and Keith Urban.
"This was the best time I've ever had at an awards show," said Paisley.
Darius Rucker won New Artist of the Year. He was up
against the Zac Brown Band, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson and Jake Owen.
"First of all, to the fans, thank y'all for accepting me," the jubilant
Rucker said. "And I think most importantly, to country radio, you took a chance
on a pop singer from Charleston, S.C. Thank you so much for that!"
Brooks & Dunn, who earlier this year announced the
end of their two-decade partnership, were nominated for Vocal Duo and Musical
Event (with McEntire), but lost to three-time nominees in this category Sugarland. Jennifer Nettles offered to give them her
stage time to say a few words, but they declined.
"Well, I will say thank you for what you've done for us, thank you for what
you've done for country music," Nettles said before leaving the stage.
Lady Antebellum took the Vocal Group of the Year, and
the Single of the Year prize for "I Run to You."
Jamey Johnson, along with James Otto and Lee Thomas Miller, won Song of the Year
for "In Color."

"I never thought you guys would even let me come to things like this," the
country bad boy with the scruffy beard said jokingly as the audience at Sommet
Center laughed.

"I think that you can't help but talk about Taylor Swift when you talk about
modern country music," Otto said. "People talk about pop country or country pop.
Whatever brings more fans to country music I'm all for."

While there seemed to be a groundswell of support for Swift, longtime
watchers wonder whether she'd actually win Entertainer of the Year.
"Just watching the awards for so many years, I would be surprised if Taylor
wins," Vince Gill said as he made his way up the red carpet
with Daughtry. "I know people are probably speculating it's
too early to win. But that's the beauty of having the ability to vote. You can't
go wrong with any of them."
