Being raised in Lake Placid, New York, the only they don't know up there is there style. Being from that area, it is nothing but red necks still trying to make a dollar off of the 1980 Winter Games. Her singing on SNL is any indication on how she will be, then no one has to worry about her going anywhere but back home to McDonalds or to work the Parking Lot Booth Shack at then the Olympic Center for parking. She's amazing (and to be honest I can't get enough of her voice) - Her debut album aka Lizzy Grant was subpar agreed, but style wise it wasn't a far departure from her sophomore release 'Born To Die', as a matter of fact, the opening song (Kill Kill) on her debut album could of been plucked (or added to) her sophomore album 'Born To Die' - An acquired taste no doubt; there are few people in this world that can handle copious amounts of music across broad genres, so she won't be a sound for everyone - Regardless of money, if you're good then you're good - Born To Die is an awesome album and she is one to watch I agree Mar 20, 2012 6:23AM Mar 20, 2012 8:14AM Report Are you sure you want to delete this comment? |

Named after Lana Turner and the Ford Del Rey, Lana Del Rey was catapulted into the mainstream thanks to a string of viral video hits, namely "Video Games." After switching up her folky style as Lizzy Grant to a more subdued electro-indie rock, Lana's sepia-toned success happened even before her major-label debut, "Born to Die," arrived this year, punctuated by magazine covers and a notorious "Saturday Night Live" performance.
