Biography:An editor in British films by the mid '30s, "Clark" edited several notable American films in the '40s and '50s, including "John Ford"'s "How Green Was My Valley", "William A. Wellman"'s "Roxie Hart" and "Buffalo Bill", "Howard Hawks"' "I Was a Male War Bride", "Henry Hathaway"'s "The Desert Fox" and "23 Paces to Baker Street", and "Joseph L. Mankiewicz"' "Five Fingers". "Clark" began directing in 1957 with the war drama "Under Fire". He went on to specialize in nature and adventure films aimed at young audiences, such as "Flipper", "Island of the Blue Dolphins", "My Side of the Mountain", and "The Little Ark". ~ All Movie Guide
