Hong Kong native Anthony Wong Yiu Ming is a pioneer in alternative Cantonese pop since emerging in 1986 as one half of Tat Ming Pair. In 1990, Wong launched a solo career as a singer, expanding into production for other emerging artists, culminating in the 1999 formation of People Mountain People Sea Productions, producing artists including high-profile pop acts such as Leslie Cheung, Faye Wong and Sandy Lam alongside more experimental groups such as at17 and PixelToy.
