The heavy hitters of the 2012 concert itinerary don't differ that much from
what you'd get circa 1978: Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, the Eagles, Tom Petty, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Paul Simon and the Beach Boys will all take the ... more road. At least a
couple of those will likely crash and burn, either due to personalities (we're
looking at you, Eddie V.) or lack of interest (the Beach Boys brand has become
so woefully diluted that the pairing of Brian Wilson and Mike Love simply feels
weak). Those will be big. As will Adele, if and when she's able to sing again. The
sleepers of 2012? Anything electronic, and there'll be plenty out there. Watch
for the summer of titans and techno to sell all the tickets.
